The successful continuation of security and political transition processes in Afghanistan and the efforts of the Afghan authorities towards the achievement of stabilizing and accelerating development in the country are being followed with appreciation.

In order to ensure the integrity of Afghanistan and establishment of its lasting internal peace, it is of vital importance to effectively conduct and swiftly finalize the Peace and Reconciliation Process which is a significant component of the political transition. Achieving this objective will boost the development efforts in the country and constitute an important threshold for looking into the future with greater confidence. In this respect, the statements regarding the initiation of the direct negotiations between Afghan Government and Taliban representatives, hosted by Pakistan are welcome.
