The allegations that have appeared in the Greek Cypriot press today (18 October) concerning the guarantee system in reference to the remarks of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus, Mr.Kasulidis are baseless.

Turkey is continuing its resolute support for the conclusion of the current negotiation process as soon as possible with a just, comprehensive and lasting settlement and its position regarding the guarantees is well-known. Turkey maintains its position that this issue should be discussed at the final stage of the negotiation process in a five- party format conference with the participation of other Guarantor states.
