On behalf of United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Mr. Jeffrey Feltman, UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs and an accompanying delegation will pay a visit to Turkey on 30-31 August, 2016 in order to demonstrate solidarity of the UN after the failed terrorist coup attempt which targeted the foundations of the Turkish Republic.

Mr. Feltman will hold high-level bilateral meetings and also visit the building of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, heavily damaged in the course of coup attempt.

During the meetings, in addition to July 15 coup attempt and developments in the aftermath,regional and international issues will also be discussed.
