We welcome the signing of a peace agreement between the Government of Afghanistan and the representatives of Hizb-e Islami Party on 29 September 2016.

We wish that the Agreement will contribute to the establishment of lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan and set the example for the other armed groups in the country.

Instead of focusing on the pains of the past, the brotherly people of Afghanistan has succeeded in demonstrating solidarity towards the ideal of constructing a prosperous common future. This promises hope for the future of Afghanistan.
