We have received with sorrow the news of the stampede today during the Ashura Day commemorations in Iraqi city of Karbala which claimed the lives of dozens of Iraqis so far and caused injury to over a hundred others according to initial findings.

We express our heartfelt condolences to the brotherly people of Iraq and wish the mercy of Allah upon the deceased and speedy recovery to the injured.
