Our principled position for the resolution of the current disagreements in Venezuela through the preferences of the Venezuelan People and dialogue on a legitimate basis has been continuing from the very beginning.

With this understanding, we welcome the agreement reached between the Venezuelan Government and several opposition parties yesterday (September 16th) in Caracas. We consider this development as a significant and encouraging step towards a solution.

The support by all the parties to this promising initiative for the preservation of social, political and economic stability in Venezuela is of utmost importance.
