Republic Of Türkiye Ministry Of Foreign Affairs 02.10.2021

We welcome the elections, held for the first time in Qatar today, to determine the 30 members of the Shura Council.

The elections constitute an important step for strengthening the participation of Qatari people in the governance. We applaud the efforts of the Qatari leadership to hold the elections in a free and transparent environment.

We wish that the election results will be auspicious for the brotherly people of Qatar.
