As of 5th
January 2016, an “online visa application system” will come into effect for foreigners who will travel to Turkey for various purposes.

Starting from 5^th January 2016, persons who are required to have visa and who are not eligible for e-visa, must apply primarily via the “online visa application system”. The applicant will visit the embassy when an appointment is scheduled, after the online application is submitted.

Furthermore, all foreigners applying for a visa will be required to have a valid health insurance.

According to the decision taken by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Turkey and published in the Official Gazette number 28333, citizens of Thailand holding ordinary passports are granted visa exemption on their touristic visits to Turkey for a period of not exceeding 30 days on each of their visits for a cumulative of 90 days within 180 days period from the date of first entry.

Turkey and Thailand already has an agreement on the exemption of visa requirements for the holders of diplomatic or official or service/special passports for a period of not exceeding 90 days.

Requirements for a Visa for a stay exceeding 30 days

-Applicant’s original passport and a copy of passport (valid at least 2 months after expiration of visa)

-Completely filled application form and 1 photo

-Hotel reservation

-Invitation letter,
authorized by Turkish Notary (If applicable). Invitation letter should have following details;.

Turkish I.D. of inviting person, I.D. details, list of invited people, inviting persons residence address, contact no, kindship information between inviting and invited people,visit duration and visit purpose

Invitation letter should state that inviting person/establisment will cover the invited person ledging and accommodation expenses

If institutional invitation, then tax no of the institution is needed

-Ticket reservation

- Financial guarantee documents (personal bank statement (original) and copy, original passbook for the latest 3 consecutive months) or other financial supporting documents (title decd etc) and/or inviting persons financial guarantee documents.

-If the visit is organized by tour agency, original letter from agency on visit dates, visit area, visit purpose,

-Constent letter form guardian (in case the applicant is below 18 years old) authorized by Thai authorities.

-If the person applies from a country other than his/her homeland, he/she need to submit his/her valid residence permit or any document that proves he/she legally stays in that country.
